With more than a twenty-year presence in the Wedding Industry, Lori found that wedding floral design was the perfect transition from her fashion design career. After earning her degree from New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology, she found success as a knitwear designer for many years.

Being married to Tom and having no choice but to work more than occasionally in the “Cress Family Business,” Lori found she loved not only the design aspect of the business, but the personalization and close connection of working directly with her brides, grooms, and clients in general. She channeled her passion for color, shape, and style into custom, award-winning floral design.

Lori sees her role as helping every couple tell their wedding story through stunning bouquets, centerpieces, and décor that reflect their own unique style and floral vision for their very special day!

Lori is not too proud to admit that she has shed many happy tears watching her couples begin their lives together. The hugs and praise that she receives, from her satisfied clients, continue to inspire her work in the business. Throughout the planning process, many clients become friends and meeting for a cocktail after the wedding is always in order. Lori and Tom find joy in watching their couples grow their families and come back to them for many other wonderful occasions and life celebrations!

Tom Cress literally “inherited” his entrepreneurial spirit and his talent for floral design. After all, Cress Floral Decorators traces its history back to a single pushcart in Manhattan where the Time Warner Center stands today.

More than a century ago, Tom’s grandfather sold flowers to New Yorkers to bring home to their sweethearts. Today, Cress Floral Decorators has evolved into a full-service Wedding Florist and Event Company, creating elegant bridal bouquets and centerpieces that speak to every couple’s story.

After graduating from Adelphi University, Tom was eager to apply his business smarts to building the family business, creating not only beautiful wedding flowers, but delivering exceptional customer service as well. He knows how important your wedding is and makes the process of choosing your bridal flowers effortless, exciting, and most importantly, a relaxed and fun experience!

Much like his grandfather and father before him, Tom appreciates the personal connection he makes with his clients. He especially enjoys the challenges of unique and interesting floral designs and installations, offering highly customized styling and design that reflect each of his client’s preferences and personalities.
